If you have chosen in-person – UPDATE

If you have indicated in-person mode of learning but are intending to keep your child home from school or after attending in-person, you would like to choose online.

SCENARIO 1– I have selected in-school instruction but my child will not be attending. I would like to switch to distance learning but I have missed the deadline. The only opportunity to transition to the new mode of learning will occur on November 10.

Prior to November 10, the student has the option of participating in their in-person class via D2L/Brightspace or Google Classroom, or accessing resources on the WRDSB@Home site – this is not the same as distance learning and a device will not be supplied.

Classroom teachers will be taking attendance for these students based on their involvement in learning through D2L/Brightspace or Google Classroom.

Students who do not participate online by September 25 will be removed from the school’s enrolment at that date. Re-registration would be required for any type of return to learning mode.

Parents will still need to formalize their intentions to transfer to distance learning by the appropriate dates (October 16 for elementary). The process for doing this will be shared in the future.

SCENARIO 2 – My child has attended in-school instruction but I would now like to transition to distance learning. How will this happen?

The first opportunity for students to transition from one mode of learning to another will be November 10.

Families need to notify the school of this intention by October 16.

A process for requesting this change will be released at a future date.

Where there are extenuating circumstances, families should contact the school principal.
