Hello J.W. Gerth families, 

Let me begin by introducing myself! My name is Marc Laurente and I will be your principal! I am thrilled to work with all of you at J.W. Gerth. I am looking forward to meeting new faces, connecting with families, and learning about the wonderful J.W. Gerth family. This is an exciting time for me as I embrace this new school. J.W. Gerth is a school with a strong community that supports its students, and I cannot wait to work alongside each and everyone of you in this vibrant school community.

I have been an administrator in the WRDSB for the past 10 years, with roles at Queensmount, Coronation, and the last 5 plus years at Hillcrest as Principal.

Most importantly, I am married with 2 children. Our son is 7 years old and is heading off to Grade 2, and our daughter is 3 years old and she will be attending Kindergarten in 2 years from now.
