We know that this will cause inconvenience to many, however, after watching the traffic issues in our parking lot for the past few weeks and noting the dangerous behavior of the drivers coming into our small parking lot each morning to drop off children and again at the end of the day to pick up, we wanted to give everyone fair notice that starting on January 9, 2017 we will be having a by-law officer hand out tickets to anyone who is in our parking lot to drop off or pick up students , during entry and exit times. (8:45 to 9:10 and 3:00-3:45).  By-law will be here during the week of Dec. 19 to give warnings.  If you are picking up a child for an appointment during the day, please use the visitor parking only.  If you are dropping off or picking up children in the Y Child Care, you may use the 4 spots designated for this purpose.  No staff parking spots may be used for this purpose.  We have been in touch with the Y and in order to avoid a ticket, you will need to present identification that indicates your child is in their care at the time you are in the parking lot.

We are very concerned for the safety of all of our children, who, given the chaos in the parking lot, are not safe.  We have also had accidents causing damage to cars, due to people backing up and turning around in spaces that are not even close to being large enough. In one case, the person just drove off, leaving the damage to be paid for by the innocent driver.

Our parking lot is for our large staff to park so they can work here and many times they arrive to find no space available because someone has parked to take their children to the playground.  We realize that it may be inconvenient, however,we have no choice but to move in this direction as our pleas to parents to not come into the parking lot at drop- off and pick-up times have gone unheeded.  Thanks for thinking about the safety of your children, as well as the safety of all others.
