Thank you to all of our parents who submitted their concerns via the flyer that went home last week.  Thanks also the parents who volunteered to work on the Transition Committee to ensure a smooth transition of our Grade 5 and 6 students to Doon for September 2014.  As per the School Council agreement, a lottery was held to determine who would act on the parents’ behalf on this committee and the members are S. Parr and L. Holmes.  Our first meeting is tonight at Doon P S.  We will keep our families and our students up to date on the plans for this transition.

Our staff reps will be C. Fuller and T. Striker.

All JWG staff and interested parents have completed a flyer indicating their concerns as we move forward and those concerns have been compiled and will be addressed by the committee.

I have also met with all Grade 4 and 5 students, class by class, to explain the situation, how the problem has been solved and asked each student to write their own concerns and questions on a sheet of paper.  Those concerns have also been compiled and will be shared with the committee today.

If you haven’t sent in your flyer, please do so at any time and we can be sure to address your concerns as well.

We are all working together to ensure the smoothest transition possible.
